Millard towers are used by marine agencies worldwide providing navigational aids to remote shipping lanes where GPS is not effective. Lights, fog horns and navigational beacons can be mounted directly to Millard`s tripod design or lattice towers.
The towers are lightweight enough to be flown into remote locations by helicopter and easily erected on difficult and irregular surfaces such as rock and tundra. They are made from aluminum and can withstand more than 160kph (96mph) winds in sub-zero temperatures with ice and snow.
The towers are relied upon heavily in the Canadian Arctic where remote locations make transportation and assembly difficult, and UV degradation and weather conditions are at their worst.
